After the striped bass kill that occurred last week in the Black Hall River in Old Lyme, a good number of eagles were spotted soaring over the estuary. My son was able to get a few good pictures of this spectacular bird with my camera (300 mm lens). Although we're not positive, it appears that a nest is also in the area so we may be treated to many more sightings in the future.
That third photo is awesome.
ReplyDeleteShould have banned DDT sooner.
Such an amazing bird when seen in real life! Your son did a great job taking the pictures, they can be very challenging to photograph in flight and at a distance.
ReplyDeleteAwesome is right!! Good Stuff!!
DeleteWow. Every time I see one I am amazed, and coincidentally most have been while fishing.
ReplyDeleteWe have some near (within?) the Groton reservoir, and like y'all said; amazing! Such an amazing bird. Nice photos!
